Comics:
EXILES #65
The moment you've been waiting for is here! All is explained in the finale to "Timebreakers", as the Exiles enlist some very big guns to combat the power-mad Hyperion. Beak finally proves his worth as a member of the Exiles when he devises a plan that will save the multiverse from certain annihilation, but it may cost the Timebreakers their base of operations. And of course, it isn't an Exiles event unless the team undergoes some big changes, and this issue is no different. Tony Bedard and Mizuki Sakakibara deliver the goods once more, with deft plotting and gorgeously rendered line work, and an ending that is merely a new beginning and a hint at the shape of things to come.

UNCANNY X-MEN #460
Much ado has been made about Chris Claremont's return to the pages of Uncanny X-Men, but for better or worse it doesn't seem to stop fans from flocking to each issue for more. And why not? Though the dialogue is at times a bit stilted, the stories are still everything that has made the X-Men such a hit. Whether it's the return of the Hellfire Club or a return to the Savage Land, Claremont delivers the goods in the same grandiose style he did for much of the 80's. This issue begins the two-part "Mojo Rising", featuring the return of a certain bloated yellow monstrosity and at least one or two familiar faces (anyone remember the finale to Chuck Austen's run?). The real pay-off here isn't even the main story, but the way that Claremont ties together recent continuity of all the X-Books from Wolverine's killing spree in the pages of his own book to the events of Astonishing X-Men. This issue has it all!

SON OF VULCAN #1
Launching an all-new title in the midst of DC's current multi-title "Countdown to Infinite Crisis" crossover may not seem the smartest move, but this book proves to be a great diversion from all the continuity-heavy stories of DC's more mainstream product. Still taking place within the DC Universe, Son of Vulcan is the story of young Mikey Devante, who wants nothing more than to get a job at the local burger joint. When the Floronic Man arrives to make his own brand of political statement, Mikey is thrust into the role of sidekick to all-new hero Vulcan and proves himself worthy of the role. But what is a sidekick to do when his mentor is killed before his training is completed? This series seeks to answer that question, ably delivered by writer Scott Beatty and artist Keron Grant.

INCREDIBLE HULK #82
After the strange events of the last few issues, readers are given a breather by writer Peter David in this standalone story, featuring art by Jae Lee. When Bruce Banner travels to London, he makes the acquaintance of a strangely familiar woman, who he soon learns is no ordinary woman but a sorceress! After her untimely death by a car bomb, Banner must employ the brutish Hulk to solve the murder and help lay the woman's spirit to rest.

LAST HERO STANDING #1
It's a 5-part weekly mega-event in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Taking place in the alternate future of the M2 Universe, two generations of heroes will unite when their comrades begin to disappear mysteriously at the hands of an unknown foe. From long-retired heroes like Scarlet Witch to up-and-comers such as Ladyhawk, no one is safe, and it's up to Spider-Girl and a host of heroes to get to the bottom of things. With Tom DeFalco and Pat Olliffe at the helm, this series is a must for fans of the gone-but-not-forgotten M2 line of comics!

VILLAINS UNITED #2
In his most heinous plot to date, the returned Lex Luthor has united the villains of the DC Universe (sharper readers may have picked that up from the title). Not all the villains wish to step in line with Luthor's legions, and a group of six join together with their own schemes for world domination. However, villains will be villains, and the Six faces a traitor from within before they can even begin their gambit. Written by Gail Simone, with art by Dale Eaglesham and Wade von Grawbadger.
