Marvel Knights Fantastic Four #9 cover

Marvel Knights Fantastic Four #9

The two-part "Frozen" concludes with a fight in the park between Reed and Namor. Sue and Johnny arrive in time to break it up, but will the two rivals be able to cooperate long enough to help Johnny solve a mystery? Uhhh…probably not. Still a great counterpoint to the cosmic stories of the regular Fantastic Four, series writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa continues to create brilliantly character-driven tales of Marvel's First Family. Jim Muniz continues to deliver sound fill-in work for this and last issue, with a similar eye to detail as regular artist Steve McNiven.

X-Statix #26

"Downbeat yet strangely moving last issue!"

This is it, folks! Love it or hate it, this is the final fate of the X-Statix, Marvel’s quirky, fame-hungry mutant team. Full of pop-culture humor, biting satire, and not just a hint of painfully ironic self-awareness, this book has set a standard that no other X-Book is ever likely to follow. Who will die? Who else will die? Do you honestly expect anyone to live in this book? As always, brought to you by the mad visionary genius of Peter Milligan and Mike Allred.

WE3 #1 cover

WE3 #1

There is nothing not to love about this book! Grant Morrison writes it! Frank Quitely draws it! It’s got cute animals in high-tech, man-killing battle suits! A stunning mix of The Incredible Journey and science fiction anime, this debut issue is sure to convert even the staunchest Morrison doubters, and Quitely’s pencils, set against Jamie Grant’s superb coloring and digital inking, have never looked better. Instantly accessible, infinitely re-readable, definitely the creators’ best collaboration to date!

The Flash #213

The Flash #213

One of the Flash’s most laughed-at villains returns! When the sluggish Turtle, not even fit for Rogue status, learns that he can tap into the Speed Force, the Flash may not stand a chance, as his own powers are turned against him. Also this issue, more questions about Ashley Zolomon’s accident will be addressed, and Wally may not like the answers. All that, plus the Rogues…and a mystery guest that might surprise you. Geoff Johns writes, and Howard Porter pencils with Livesay on inks.

The Witching #3 Cover

The Witching #3

Kara Valentine, what's wrong with you? You're in a band with your boyfriend; everyone loves him, and they hate you. Your mother is some kind of new age wannabe Witch, and she tries just a little too hard to get your boyfriend naked at every opportunity, in the name of Magick, of course. You're playing somewhere you don't want to be, and the crowd is getting nasty. You carry around a plush cat you got as a gift when you were four, and it's starting to look like there's a lot more to that cat than whiskers and stuffing. Does it have strange magical powers? Will someone please step up and explain the insanity that is becoming your life? Simply put, dear Kara, you have...the Witching.
