Cable & Deadpool #10
You'd probably be surprised to find that this series is much better than a first glance would suggest. Cable and Deadpool, in a book, together? The set-up is tenuous at times, with the two literally stuck together when one or the other attempts to use "bodyslide" technology, but this book has, with the current storyline, become one big fun mess of an adventure. With appearances by S.H.I.E.L.D., a new Six-Pack, and the X-Men, among others, this is at its heart, the best kind of Cable story---a big, overblown messiah-complex production. Now, with this issue, the Silver Surfer joins the fray, attempting to burn out Cable's powers before he can implement his latest scheme to save the world from itself. As always, Deadpool's presence throws a giant monkey wrench in the works, and Cable's human confidant Irene Merryweather may be the only one who knows Cable's true intentions. Fabian Nicieza writes, with some stellar art from Patrick Zircher and Udon Studios.

Robin #133
Tim Drake is back in the Robin suit (as if you didn't know), and he's set up shop in Blüdhaven, Nightwing's old stomping grounds. Batgirl isn't far behind, and the two set out to learn who is making a power play for the Bludhaven criminal underground. Could it be...Blockbuster? The two young Bat-Kids delve further into the mystery and subsequently, further into trouble. Captured by their enemies, the only way out may be to fight each other, in Part Three of "Fresh Blood". Written by Bill Willingham, who has proven to be the best writer on "Robin" in recent memory, constantly keeping it fresh and exciting, with art by Damion Scott, recently returned to these pages and delivering some of the most dynamic and vigorous line work of his short career.

Justice League Elite #6
Joe Kelly's work on both this and JLA has always been confusing at times, and downright infuriating at others, with painstakingly crafted dense and somewhat circuitous storytelling. But patient readers are always rewarded with the end results, and the current Elite book proves to be no exception. When the JSA show up to thwart the alien drug dealers that the JLE themselves have infiltrated, the team must continue their deep cover operation and fight the JSA. Things quickly go awry, and Hawkgirl ends up lethally skewered on the end of one of Kasumi's blades. Revelations and more mystery abound in Part Two of "The Aftermath". Art by the magnificent team of Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen.

Exiles #56
Part Two of the three-part "Bump In The Night" finds the Exiles regaining their memories, just in time to learn the role they play in this strange world of magic and mutants. Instructed to aid the villainous Kulan Gath, the Exiles must stage a losing battle against the even more deadly Zarathos, otherwise known as the Ghost Rider. Even if they defeat the vengeful demon, Manhattan will still be under the thrall of Kulan Gath, so as usual, the Exiles find themselves trapped between a rock and a hard place. Things are never easy when you're a group of heroes from separate realities forced to set right the wrongs of other damaged realities... From Tony Bedard, Jim Calafiore, and Mark McKenna.

Batman: Gotham Knights #60
Is that Hush on the cover? It sure is. Is he possibly just a tad overexposed after the events of the mega-popular Loeb and Lee storyline? You may think so, but this issue is a "can't miss", as new secrets about the bandaged villain are brought to light. Alfred finds himself at the mercy of Hush and Prometheus both, as the two continue their mission to tear down Batman, piece by piece. Batman's on the chase and not far behind, thanks to the help of a certain villainess. If you liked the aforementioned "Hush" storyarc, you won't want to miss "The Games People Play", penned by A.J. Lieberman, with art by Javi Pina and Francis Portela.

Identity Crisis #7
This is it---the final installment of the DC murder mystery that has kept both the fans and the heroes themselves guessing. Who is the mastermind behind the deadly goings-on in the DC Universe, and once revealed, what will it mean not only for our befuddled heroes, but their enemies as well? The answers promise to shock and surprise, and no one will walk away unscathed. Brilliantly written by Brad Meltzer and drawn by Rags Morales, this isn't so much a super hero murder mystery as it is a superbly rendered murder mystery that just happens to involve super heroes. Trite to say, but...expect the unexpected!
